Ordering Cayman R?
#4
I placed my order in very early November 2011 and my CR is supposed to come off the line 2/13/2012. I am told it is one of the last ones being produced. It was in the body shop before going across the bridge at Stuttgart the 3rd week in January and was stopped while they ran two weeks worth of all 991s through to meet the higher than expected demand. 5 1/2 months time by the time I get mine.

So, whats the secret idea?

The more I drive our Cayman R, the more impressed I am. It's a great pure sports car, maybe one of the best Porsche has ever made, and I think a bargain for what it offers. We may be hanging on to this car for a very long time.

Nice. Paint to sample is great if done right. I have yet to see one that I thought was a must have. Is Mex Blue like a Cobalt Blue?

Too late to order as others have said. As for your PTS idea....great pick on the color. Did you get it approved by PCNA? I am fairly certain you must get the approval from Porsche through PCNA to get classic/special/historic colors like Mexico Blue on newer cars - especially special editions like the Cayman R, etc.
Why not just go for a Cayman R and wrap it mexico blue?

Agree. Too late to order. I inquired back in October after I cancelled my TT-RS order and was told (since no 1M's available either) that there were no more allocations! I asked about a Cayman S and was told the same. Porsche was essentially drying up the market availability in lieu of the 2013, which strangely won't be available for a while.
If you want a new one at this point it is happenstance, such as my luck. I came across a "cancelled" order last weekend. Clearly not to my preferred order but a fine example nonetheless.
Very happy with the Cayman R> 1M >TTRS since I'm a P-Guy, but I'd be happy with any of these brilliant cars.
