987 Clutch Slave Removal Help

For those that have removed the clutch slave on the 987 before. How did you guys manage to get the slave cylinder out with the shift linkage assembly in the way? I can't even get close to removing the flare nut for the line and even if I got the line disconnected, I can't see any space for the cylinder to come out. I've found some DIY's for the 986 but the shift linkage is on the other side of the tranny with nothing in the way of the slave cylinder.

That little plate pops off of there as well. Just make a note of how that plate and the two rubber pieces as well as the plate on the other side fit. You'll have enough room after that to pull the slave out and maneuver it past the linkage pivot joint on the tranny.

I forgot to mention...installation of the slave cylinder would be near impossible without having the tranny removed. IF you have some vacuum machine that you could hook up to the slave cylinder then it may be possible but very tough.

I'm finding that out the hard way... I managed to pop that plate off with a pry bar but now the shift cable line is in the way. Any idea how to take it off the bracket?

I think I remember squeezing two plastic parts that kind of hold the cable in place and i had to wiggle and slide the cable out from that bracket opening
