Though I want a convertible, there might be times that a hardtop would be cool. (winter (I live in NC, not much of one)... track days, etc)

Have you ever seen these... if they make one for the 981 and it's removable (within reason) I'd like to see one up close.

Obviously you need to remove the rear luggage compartment lid and wire up a separate brake light... so this is really something you put on for the winter and leave it there until spring!

From my limited knowledge of the product,it is not meant to be removable.

Not like the hard top for a Miata.

It is a 2 person job.

Yeah, I figured but I was thinking if it could be like seasonal.

Do an Internet search on Zeintop. The company has always had serious money problems and has been defunct for years. However the owner is trying to get buyers to buy from him again. Lots of discussion about this over at the 986 forum.

Thanks for the insight. If the company is “on the rise”, I would think they’ll come up with a hardtop for the 981. If they’re failing, I highly doubt they’ll be making any new products.

Thanks,

Mark

I think someone bought the rights to the top, not the old company trying again.

They haven't even come up with a top for the 987 yet, hopefully that comes before 981
