Fabspeed Motorsport 2013 Boxster S/ 981 build - dyno's posted
as some of you know, i have been on the hunt for a 981 over the past month to do a build on... this one sort of fell into my lap! after picking the car up we got her on a lift and wasted no time getting down to business.
So far, everything is different than the 987/987.2 cars, our dyno is being st up at the new shop today so we will be able to get some baseline runs as well as see gains from each component.
the game plan on this one is pretty simple... headers with cats, long tube headers, maxflow street mufflers, race mufflers, tips, intake, and a tune. the car stock is lacking any sort of exhaust note, which should be rectified starting today!
here she is stock:
mufflers on, video soon!

hey guys!
sorry for the lack of updates, we have been extremely busy working away at these projects.. with that being said, i DO have some dyno graphs to share with you all! the car made great power and sounds phenomenal. I will have videos to upload shortly
Maxflo muffler:
race exhaust:
catted headers:
cat-less race headers:
Dyno graphs:
full bypass exhaust (race headers and race muffler bypass [no cats])
"street" exhaust (catted headers and maxflo mufflers):
race exhaust stock headers (stock cats):
maxflo mufflers with stock headers (stock cats):
the parts are on the website if you want to check them out, http://www.fabspeed.com/981_Boxster_Cayman_2013.html
lastly, here is a testimonial from the customer who let us use his car for R&D:
"DEAR FABSPEED,
I'VE TAKEN SOME TIME TO RESPOND TO YOUR E MAIL REGARDING MY ASSESSMENT OF THE WORK YOU DID ON THE EXHAUST OF MY 2013 BOXSTER S. I DID THIS BECAUSE I WANTED TO MAKE SURE I WASN'T JUST ENAMORED WITH SOMETHING NEW. WELL THE DECISION IS IN AND I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT THE END RESULT IS FABULOUS. THE EXHAUST NOTE IS PERFECT AND THE CAR PURS LIKE A KITTEN AT 80 MPH. THERE APPEARS TO BE ABSOLUTELY NO BACK PRESSURE AT ALL WHEN I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE GAS. EVERYONE WHO HEARS OR DRIVES THE CAR IS IN COMPLETE AGREEMENT. I RECOMMEND THIS MODIFICATION TO ANYONE WHO OWNS A BOXSTER AND WOULD BE HAPPY TO CONVEY THE SAME TO ANYONE INTERESTED. THANKS AGAIN TO YOU AND YOUR HIGHLY COMPETENT STAFF FOR MAKING A GREAT CAR EVEN BETTER.
YOURS TRULY,
RON"

Looks like if you're just wanting more HP/TQ, you're better off just installing the mufflers. It seems the more "racier" the setup is, the less results you see.
Did your dyno guy modify the tune for the exhaust or did you guys just bolt it on and do a dyno run?
If it was a dyno graph from simply bolting it on, then the mufflers offered an impressive gain "for just mufflers".
If it was tuned once the mufflers were installed, then I'd be less impressed because I'm sure that Porsche leaves HP/TQ on the table if someone was just to clean up the tune.
