Newly Painted Inlet Manifolds Installed

Just finished installing my newly painted inlet manifolds covers. A little more engine detailing and I will install the clear cover. I chose to buy new inlet manifold covers so my car would not be out of commission for more than a week. It took a week for the painting process. If anyone is interested in doing the same process, I have the original covers and would be willing to let them go. Please PM me and we can discuss.

Did you remove and install the covers yourself? What was the process? Also, did you paint or powder-coat?

Looks Great!!

No I did not remove the original and install the painted one. It was done by my purchasing dealer. The covers are actually painted and oven baked to withstand the heat of the engine. It was done by a high end body shop that I have been using for years. They did a great job. It took about a week for the full process. That's why I purchased a new set of manifolds so I could use my car while the paint work was being done. Actual removal and installation of the new covers is a 4.2 hour job according to my dealer. They know how **** I am so they actually lowered the engine to make sure they did not scratch the new covers but still only charged me 4.2 hours of labor even though it took a lot longer. Many members of this forum have had this done without dropping the engine. I believe they tape the covers before installing them. I did some engine cleaning before the covers were removed but I still have a little more to do before I install the clear cover. Since I Concours my car, the engine has to be spotless.

Finished detailing the engine today. This is what it looks like with the clear cover installed.

Very Nice.

Where did you purchase the clear cover?
Is it any louder inside?

Before you put a clear cover on, have you considered re-running the wiring and hoses to clean up the appearance?

I purchased the clear engine cover from suncoastparts.com for $649.00. There is a little more engine sound with the clear cover but noting objectionable. I was very concerned about more noise but, I must say, I am very pleased with the results and will leave the clear cover on permanently. This will be a great help as I Concours my Cayman and this makes it much easier to remove the engine cover for judging besides looking awesome.

Can't say that I have. I am just fine with the way it looks now. Thanks for your suggestion.
