They also have a white Cayman with a modified TT engine.... pushing 500hp
Simply stunning!!

Considering it's a mid engine car and soo well balanced it will handle the power beautifully. Personally I think it's just a matter of time until the 911 becomes a mid engine car. We are starting to see Porsche moving in this direction with the 986, 987 and Porsche's pride and joy the Carrera GT.

I heard it was bad when the 911 went from air cooled to liquid cooled; I can't imagine what would happen if they ever put the engine in the right place

Unfortunately, there is just no room to have rear seats in a mid engine car. Having rear seats would make the wheel base too long and defeat the performance purpose of being a mid engine car. I am ofcourse only guessing that in time the 911 will become a mid engine car. Think about it the only rear engine car that Porsche has left is the 911. Through the evolution of performance one would think that Porsche would eventually have too change it.

How about Carerra4 vs. Mid Engine layout?
Sorry if I'm coming across as a neophyte (never seen my engine), but I'm guessing AWD on a mid-engine is a physical impossibility (engine gets in the way??)
