Dog,
Dunno. I'll let you know after I get the numbers. I'm assuming that they are going to try to tweak a bit more out of it during programming. Intake, flywheel, headers and cats...should add at least 700hp shouldn't it?

Just kidding. I'll be happy with 350hp. I'm not doing this to go street racing. Just some occasional track days. I've said it over and over before. The Boxster is a great, balanced car. It just needs an extra 100hp to really be the perfect car.

By the way....From someone who drives a yellow cabriolet, throwing femininity comments at the Boxster crowd is akin to a "Pot calling the Kettle black" don't you think? Throw me some pics with your car lowered, wheels, and full of babes and I might change my opinion.

you could paint a stock carrera cab neon pink with rubber dicks glued to the sides (akin to Luis' GT3 ) and it would still be manlier than the coxster

why not have a coupe, i live in FL and the weather's nice?? cabs are only girly when they're 2 seaters making less than 250 HP i would suggest you scotch tape the dyno sheets for yours to the doors so nobody makes that mistake.

besides, it's kind of hard to call a supercharged cab making 425 to the wheels, headers and exhaust, PSS9's, GT3 sways, 19' black 3 piece wheels, turbo bumpers/wing, side skirts, etc etc.... "feminine"

unfortunately can't post any pics of my car full of babes as the wife would disapprove.....

all kidding aside, i think this project you're involved in is pretty cool. you'll still look like a pole smoker driving around in it , but that is gonna be one hell of a performance sports car! you'll definitely take a few carrera owners by surprise and probably whip *** at the track. the boxster being reasonably light and mid engined, would be a much more exciting car with carrera levels of HP and torque.

Dog,
How about a pic of the wife in the car then?

I just want to see the car with the skirt on, er I mean with the skirts, wheels, Pss9s, etc...

I do agree that the 911 is manlier than the Boxster. However, since I own both, I have to tell you that IMHO the Boxster drives much better than my 911.

It is actually kinda strange realization, actually.

I think that I fall into a category of folk who couldn't give a *hit if the car they were driving in was a box painted purple. It is the driving experience that really lights my soul. I guess that at 40, married with 2 teenage boys, I'm not really looking for some hot chicks to pull up along side my TT with the hopes that I might get laid. Besides, the only people who get excited when I'm driving the TT are other men and kids. Neither of whom I'm trying to impress.

By the way, if the Boxster is feminine, then is the Cayman Phalic?

I'm getting a lot of PMs about this conversion. Namely, how much it will cost and when it will be done.

For the first, please call FVD in Florida. I don't have any information save for the website. Mine is only a mule for development work and a wishlist of things to put into the car.

For the delivery question, I'm hearing 3 - 4 weeks. From what I understand, they are down to things like cruise control, etc. interfacing with the upgraded DME. Additionally, as in keeping FVDs other cars, they are focusing on driveability. At the end of the day, I really am not interested in a car that can go ***** to the walls, with check engine lights going off all the time. I'll ask the folks at FVD to post sounds, video, etc. of the car when available.

Sorry I can't give you more than that.

Dave

Haha. Dude don't take me wrong. I love the boxster, even more than the 911 and I have a 2003 986 S.

By girly i mean it has more rounded curves and looks somehow cuter than the 986.

BTW, Whats wrong with my name? LOL

Gabriel,
Sorry. I took your post out of context. I seem to be defending the Boxsta' more and more these days.

Actually, nothing is wrong with your name. Just needed something to rag on....call it a defense mechanism.

Are you talking to me?

THen I have to disagree. Being in Greece with 200 sunny days a year I love my boxster and I prefer it than a Cayman Ehh, I mean Boxster Coupe.

Haha. Nice. There is no particular Greeklish (Greek with English characters) spelling to follow but its pretty accurate. Our food is indeed something else
