3.8l Swap into Cayman, 5sp or 6sp?

I've read the thread following the 3.8 swap into the Cayman S but was wondering about the regular Cayman. In order to do the swap, would getting a car with PASM and the 6speed transmission be neccessary, or would you be able to mate the 5sp also?

5 speed is OK but 6 speed is better.
