Hi,

Heard a lot about “Pedro’s sport exhaust” mod. Seen a few pics of others mods but searched like crazy & can’t find pedros original thread. Also, from what I’ve seen, got a few questions

Regard,

PK.

Thanks, I went allover that forum. I think I found the guy but no thread about his mod (no PM’ing non-registered users...he's one)…tried every variation of “Pedros sport exhaut”in my searches, lots of references to it. A few pics of other peoples muffler but no "how to" thread.

Thanks for your reply,

PK

Aren't yours straight pipes?

Pedros mod involves welding two pipes. You take one pipe, weld it to the inlet pipe of the exhaust and another to the exhaust tip pipe(not the tip).

Thanks for the reply.

I’m surprised by how subdued it sounds with just a straight cut out (on video anyway, hard to tell), fine with me. Do the cats serve as a partial muffler? I’d just like to appreciate that sweet exhaust note a bit more pronounced, while maintaining the civility of the car (I.E. no new vibrations, kinda here myself talk, etc.).

Where did you get your cutouts? Do you have any problems with fumes making there what up to into the **** pit? Can you adjust the cut outs to partialy open modes to tune the note?

Thanks, Hope I didn’t overload you with questions/

Thanks, PK

Hey Gary,

Thanks for the reply,

Seen your video several times while stumbling around on this quest...inspiring. Are those cuts-outs, pedros thing, or an aftermarket exhaust system?

Thanks Pete

Ya that’s all I see, If I cold find him I’d like to find out tube diameters, material (looks like stainless), how he bent it, what he welded it with (looks like brazing) and, the possibility of a shut off valve

Thanks for your reply,

PK

HI,
i had a muffler shop do this for me, total cost was around 40 bux.
i can adjust the cutouts from open to close to partially anywhere in between.
only the 1st time ever that the pipes were open there was a smell for few mins, and never after that.
the cutouts are not that big, i dont remember the diameter, but the gases probably make ther way trough the exhaust as well as trough the cutouts.
i have a 98, so the only cats i have are 2 by the exhaust, which i will be removing sometimes soon.

ill try and make another video sometimes soon.

take care, post up what you come up with.

they are manually operated. just reach under the car on the side by exhaust, and open or close.
aside from having to leave the car to open/close it takes 3 seconds total to open or close.
i mainly use it for autocross purpose, but i sometimes like to zip around w them open
