Hey guys,
I just thought we start a Greater Vancouver thread so we can get to know each other a little more. Doesn't matter if it's a Porsche or not. This way, during the meets (soon hopefully) we will already have a better idea of who each person is.
Maybe state the following:
name:
city:
ride:
mods:
future plans for your ride:
hobbies:
Also post some pictures of your ride.
I'll Start.
I am Sam, and just moved to Burnaby this year, was in Vancouver. Just bought a black 2003 996 with grey interior not long ago. Currently it's in the shop getting some mods including exhaust, racing cat, ECU, and intake. I plan to get some wheels and maybe some other comestic work done. I enjoy watching and playing basketball. Hopefully the Raptors will make it further this year in the playoffs
Only have this one picture when i bought a day permit, but will have more once the car is out of the shop. nothing special though.

I just moved back to Vancouver from Calgary. I've been away for a long time to get my medical degree and specialist accreditation and all I can say is that Vancouver is the best place to live with all do respect to my fellow board members.
I have a 2006 Basalt Black C4S, 6spd lowered with HR springs. Just getting around to doing some mods to the engine to get a little more juice outta her if you know my lingo ! Believe it or not, its my daily driver when I'm in town.
I apologize for the limited picture of my ride. Yes....that's my partner's Gallardo in the background. Our parking lot gets a lot of attention by passer bys when we are work.
I'd love to share ideas on good mods with my fellow Van members (and or course all members!). I'm new to be board and I joined just recently to participate more actively.
Let's go for a cruise....

Welcome aboard DOC.
Vancouver is the best place to live no doubt about that.
I love your black C4S with those wheels. Black is the best colour ain't it hehe
Must be nice to have a partner who loves cars as well. He should come out as well when we organize a meet.
Congrats on getting your specialist accreditation.
Cheers!

Almost Vancouver... but with wine
From Kelowna, and just new to Porsche ownership.
2002 C4S recently acquired... still grinning.
http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/bentli...36965540085618
So much more solid than my outgoing Honda s2000.
The Porsche is everything I expected and more.
Anyway, while Kelowna is not Vancouver I'd like to come down for a drive if/when one is posted.
Alternatively, there are some amazing drives around the lakes and vineyards up here! Anyone?
Cheers, Duane

Anyways have you guys heard of RevScene? They are a huge car scene group/club/forum site in Van and they frequently have meets. I don't know too many P-car owners there so maybe we can show up respresenting the P's of Vancouver!
or we could meet up first on our own heh

Duane, welcome a board. Nice to see you check in.
Yups, I know Revscene. However, I personally wouldn't want to go to their meet. I think if we had our own meet to just cruise around town, get some coffee, and take group pics, it would be better than going to the Revscene meet.
How's everyone's schedule on the weekends in the next couple of weeks? I just want to get an idea and then I'll start a sign up list with details soon.
I'm thinking of meeting somewhere on the west end of Vancouver (possibly Oakridge because there's lots of parking) and then go together to get a drink and chat so we can get to know each other, and then drive through spanish banks, downtown, etc. We can get some group pics at Oakridge and at the beach.
Let me know what you guys think. Any other suggestions are welcome.

Well I am heading to Asia for 3 weeks as of this Friday so can you try to set it up for when I get back? Mid-late April would be preferable, better weather too as we get deeper into Spring.
Also I would only be available on Sunday as I'm usually super busy on Fri/Sat. So those are my preferences, not that it's a big deal or anything heh

HI:
Its a picture of me intubating a guy who was in a big crash on the highway. Its a reminder to always cool it when things get crazy if you're out on the street or on the track. Its not worth the risks1
Take Care,

Hi boyz:
My ride will be ready to go in Mid April.
I'm a low key guy and a cruise would suit me fine. I'm a bit old for the teenage, pimple scene but I'm cool to hang with the Porsche guys whatever you want to do.

Welcome to the new guys.
Nice cars and congrats.
Ha, I also was wondering about that middle pic.
Thought maybe Doc put up a medical pic. by mistake.
I live up the valley (Abbotsford) so I could probably make a Okgn. cruise, too.

Beautiful car, doc!
RE: the revscene meet. If anyone is interested, the annual spring meet is this sunday at spanish banks, at noon. I know for most of you it is not your scene as there will definitely be rice amongst the nice cars, but we would love to see some high end cars out there. Besides, car people are car people not matter what they drive, so it would be great to see some 6speeders. I should be volunteering there thay day, so if anyone's got any questions they can message me about it.
If no one makes it, some sort of meet in april would be great. As I'm a student, I wouldn't be free til towards the end of the month due to finals, but any other time would work. Would be nice to meet some of you/see your cars in person.

I posted a thread in the 997 forum but thought I should share it with my fellow Vancouver members.
Building my own bodykit.
