Yes, that seems to be the case. Any 07 or earlier 997. Switch on the DRL's, pay the %6.1 duty, gst, riv fee, $100 ac tax. Get the safety inspection done, pay pst, get your plates and drive.

Why are you importing one? You know there is 6% duty too right?

Hi, I have a few reasons why I am importing one...
1) I can't find one in Canada (I'm importing an orange RS) - I think that says it all...unless you can tell me where I can find one in Toronto...
2) 07 will not require the bumper mods
3) the dealership in the States is handling the DRL, transportation, customs broker

According to Maddog78, the below is all I need, correct?
1) pay the %6.1 duty, gst, (is this the 6% you were referring to?)
2) riv fee, 195 + tax
3) $100 ac tax.
4) Get the safety inspection done, at cdn tire
5) pay pst,
6) get your plates and drive.

Orange RS is the answer, that's cool. Just from an apples-apples order the difference isn't worth it since the price decrease IMO.

Good luck

Yes.

You fax the form to RIV once you come across the border and they send you one back to take to Can. Tire.
If you live in BC, Canadian Tire will also do the provincial inspection. I forget, around 100 bucks I think it was.

lager99,

Like crx168 said, there isn't much for selection in lightly used cars in Canada, plus I saved about 20K which was important to me but looking at the cars on your list maybe 20K isn't that important to you.

Congrats on the GT2. What colour and options are you getting?

I think if I'm buying any other models I would not buy from the US just to save all the hassles. It's because I have been searching for a RS for awhile now and have not heard anything yet on a MY09 RS, so I have decided to take on an US one. Otherwise, I'd much rather stimulate the Cdn economy than the US.

Agree with Maddog78 on Lager99's list of cars. I think I have the weirdest list of cars in this forum.

Yeah, I hear you on the RS. Congrats, it will be awesome.
Put up some pics when you get it or maybe you have some now from the dealer?
It is a bit more hassle but I live right near a border crossing and brokered it myself. Everything went fine so I would do it again. In fact I'm thinking of selling this one when the weather turns nice here on the coast and then bring in an 07 C2S.

Hi Maddog78, just read your other post. Will I require a No Recall Letter also?

The GT2 is the same as the RS so there is no choice & it is a bit higher...not after US dealer mark ups though. And I could get a TT similar & build a good dealer relationship.

There is a thread in the GT2 section somewhere I started...red exterior, basalt wheels.

do you guys know if there is a difference between the 07 and 08 Gt3 RS'???

I notice that the 07 does not have sueded steering wheel with the yellow mark, is that right? The dealership sent me pictures of an 07 RS and has leather steering wheel instead.

Also I see that the rear exhaust tips are different also. EDIT: just found out these are fabspeed exhausts.
Have any of you guys seen this car on this board or any others and would have any info on it? Heard it
was from Pennsylvannia.

Is that the thick option steering wheel? Kinda looks like it but fuzzy pic. That may be why.

ok, actually i just found info on it. It is the thicker steering wheel...not sure why anybody would choose this over the other one. But a matter of preference I guess.

Yes. Call the toll free number for PCNA, give them the VIN and they will send it to you no charge.

Beautiful RS.

I just read that thread on GT2 prices.
Sounds like heavy US dealer markup out there.
