C2gta, I'm not sure about other makes but as for Gallardo's, there are ways of bringing in one in. In order to do it, we will need help and after it's all said and done, it's much better off to buy a CDN 04/05 G. That's what one of the guys from Lambo talk forum just did and I've also started looking into the Canadian market.
Fdss, have you looked into the costs of bringing one in? The price gap for the 06-08 G is somewhere between $60k to $100k, and it's probably worth your while to ask the guy to bring one in. Can you help me ask him about a 04 G? If the price is reasonable comparing to a CDN G, I will pull the trigger.
Cheers,
Tim

so the dollar is at a high-enough point that i'm pretty much ready to make my next purchase. I'm considering slashing the price on my IS300 right now to buy a boxster off a 6speeder on here.
the user is 987bs and he's rarely on here, but i've emailed him and he still has the car for sale. how risky is it for me to buy the car over the internet and have it shipped to me? is this something common that people do? the car is in florida so i'm not flying down there and driving it back. Besides, i think shipping is actually cheaper.

Secondly, once you get the report and it checks out. GO TO FLORIDA AND DRIVE THE CAR! THE PLANE TICKET IS ONLY $600 for a round trip flight from Edmonton to Florida!
If you find this guy to be shady, then you can go with an online escrow company which will hold onto the money and only releases the money to the seller upon completion of the transaction.
Yes, get it shipped over as this will save you time and money then driving it over.
After that, it's all RIV and i won't dwell into that process. Good Luck.

its the flying down there part that's tricky. i have been taking way too much vacation time at work lately to get any more days off for a while. am i too trusting to tell the porsche dealership to have one of their mechanics drive it around and note down that it drove okay?

OK PEOPLE THIS IS HOW YOU GET A GALLARDO INTO CANADA WITHOUT LAMBORGHINI CANADA'S HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Get your recall letters, computer printouts, receipts to have the daytime running lights enabled through the computer and fax them directly to Transport Canada/RIV 72 hours before the car comes across! Then go get your emissions test done!
I'm a compter nerd who works in Ottawa and went into Transport Canada and asked!
