Cornering lights not working
#16
It's damn annoying that these cornering light bulbs go out on the Cayenne. I have a 2000 Nissan van with cornering lights that are still working great. Why does Porsche use these low quality light bulbs? Several other light bulbs on the car have gone out at various times as well, such as the side marker bulb, rear brake bulb, and turn signal bulb.
It's also surprising that nobody makes a H3 LED bulb with a built in resister to overcome error codes. I'd hate to ever replace these bulbs again.

when you replace, I recommend being very careful once you pop the headlight out.
If your car is not near brand new, you will notice that the internal wiring (inside the headlight assembly) is very brittle, to the point that if you touch some wires, the shielding will flake off exposing metal, which will cause strange electrical effects. I was unable to find any place where they would sell the replacement for such harness inside the headlight assembly (they do sell the one for outside the headlight - one that connects to the headlight).
So when opening, replacing, closing, be careful not to touch any wiring. Good luck.

THANK YOU!
I only got my Cayenne last Sunday and this forum has been very useful. This particular post gave me the courage to sort out my right cornering light!
