Advice on 05 CS Performance Mods
#16
I've got a 3:30pm appointment today to do some preliminary dyno readings. Found a place IN MY HOMETOWN that has (2) dyno's - 1 AWD, 1 2WD. They do year-round drag racing on these dynos. How awesome is that!!! Check out IndoorDragRace.com for info. If I can I'll post the dyno sheet just for S&G. Can't wait.![Big Grin](https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Before/After Photos
Here's some before/after photos of the exterior mods to date: clear side markers, silver hood crest, and bumper plugs. The damn car is too shiny! The reflection off it makes it look dirty and you can't even tell the crest is silver.
I just washed and polished it before the photos. It's too sunny to get good photos - too much glare! This is Michigan, right?
Nothing special in the 1st photo, I just like the sunlight. My afternoon on the dyno was unbelievable! It's scary as hell the first time you floor it and the car is screaming!!! I'll post the dyno sheet when I get to a scanner. In a nutshell, about 340 RWHP and a REALLY CRAPPY torque curve. More later.

AWD eats up a lot of HP, we have two superflow AWD dynos here and I had a friend bring is TrailBlazer SS here so I could get some video for a project I'm doing and it didnt even make 300 RWHP and TrailBlazer SS are rated at 390 flywheel HP

that is right...
my past ML55 did 260 RWHP and have less power-lose-train than the Cayenne, which has so much bocking differencials and AWD goodies than the ML....well that eats HP.

I can't remember exactly what was said. I think if you multiply the number by 1.45 you get the awhp, or is it the crankshaft number? I can't remember. The area that Kaz was most concenred about was the torque curve - it's peaks and valleys. It should look like the above dyno sheet. He said this can be tuned out and will deliver a noticable performance improvement, but he doesn't have the software to tune Porsche. He's not convinced a "tele-tune" or mail-order tune will solve the problem because it's not customized for YOUR car.

Was this a 3rd gear pull or an all gear run? I ask because those dips look like transmission shifts. If it was an all gear run it would defiantly explain why your TQ numbers are a little low. When you're dyno testing a vehicle equipped with an automatic you ideally want the transmission in 3rd with the converter clutch locked up as this will give the most accurate numbers.
