Advice on 05 CS Performance Mods
Here's some of the performance mods I'm considering for my 05 CS. I'd like some advice on prioritizing them - which will make the most difference. Just to let you know, I'm not much of a gearhead. So, dumb it down for me if ya can.![Big Grin](https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Fabspeed Maxflo exhaust system: $2195 - 12-15 HP
Fabspeed Catbypass: $650 - 17 HP
EvoMS Air Intake kit: $595 - 10-12 HP
EvoMS Diverter Valves - $260 - ??? (I'm not sure what they do, anyway)
InMotionUSA ECU upgrade - $300 - 30 HP
Anything else that'll help will be appreciated
Thanks

I would guess that the ecu tune would be the easiest and least invasive way to go. If you just got it, I'd enjoy the car first and that way you'll appreciate the mods more once you notice the power gains.
I would also imagine there to be more hp gains to get an electric exhaust bypass instead of going with the fabspeed catbypass.
I don't know too much about CS's, but that would be my .02

"Diverter valves are only for turbos....so you wont be needing those."
Sweet...scratch the diverter valves.
I know the ECU HP of 30 HP is not RWHP.
The numbers from Fabspeed come direct from their mouths. I called them today.
"I would also imagine there to be more hp gains to get an electric exhaust bypass instead of going with the fabspeed catbypass."
I don't know anything about that. Who makes that system? What're the pros/cons vs. the fabspeed?
BTW, I've had the car for 4 months and I REALLY love it. I'd love it more if it were faster, though.
....shoulda bought the turbo....

Its actually an ingenious idea, flip a switch and your stock sounding CS transforms into a beast with straight headers.. essentially no restrictions on exhaust flow south of the exhaust manifold. It's best you have it installed before the cats so you get the least resistance, but it depends where you have space.
Personally, I don't know if I would do this on a porsche just because they tend to be more complicated than say small block GM V8's.

That's cool....
I'm not that adventurous at this stage of the game.![Wink](https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Am I delusional hoping for a 50-70 HP increase with new air intakes, catbypass, exhaust and ECU upgrade?
I may have dyno readings done before and after just for S and G.

70 hp from bolt ons isn't gonna happen.
Try VF Engineering, they have Cayenne/Vortech Superchargers in development. In fact they've already done one on a CS. 40-50% hp increase... think 450-ish.

Have they said when it will be available?

The last time I spoke to them they're looking for a V6 test mule locally to install a system on for a good deal $$$.
And the V8... they've already done one, call and see if they're ready yet. Should be around $5000 or so. Their 997 SC kit makes 475hp out of a 997S...

I've done the following setup:
Fabspeed bypass pipes
BMC 2x filters
Fabpseed mufflers
Ecu upgrade
I would really reccomend it as my SUV feels faster off the line and has some grunt in the lower rpms.

I spoke with them yesterday (10/30/07) and they said the CS edition is still in development. This would be my first choice, but I can't wait forever, ya know.

Improving the breathing of your car will help, but if you do the exhaust you won't get the full benefit until you match it with the air intake upgrade. I advise you do the following:
EVOMS and Catbypass first- drive it a while and see if you are happy.
Next, finish the exhaust with the Fabspeed mufflers if you feel the need.
Finally, make the ECU change- but pray you have a dealer who won't try and void your warranty if there is ever an issue.
Most of all, have fun.
