How many miles till you needed brakes?

I have 18K on my Cayenne, and I have about 20-25% left on my brakes.

I have a lip on my rotors, so I'll need to have them replaced as well. At least 12k of those miles are highway, but sometime even that can be stop and go.

How many miles are you guys getting on your original brakes?

on the S I got 38K, pads only and 65k pads / rotors. I know drivers who changed at 50k. It depends on your driving pattern, freeway commuts last longer than city routes.

38k??? Wow! My indie guy said that Cayennes eat brakes due to the weight- which makes sense- but I'm thinking that 18k is ridiculous because I often downshift to slow down first (I'm secretly still a stickshift guy).

Everyone likes to say that but they designed this truck to handle the weight. The brakes are an easy DIY job also.

27K

Porsche is SOOO conservative on it's brakes. It's a freekin 32mm brick of a rotor and they want it replaced at 30mm!!!

Remember... a Chevy truck can go a couple pad cycles and has room to resurface the rotor a couple times.

1mm front and rear wear allowed, pfffttt!!!!

Dealer had me replace the front pads at 22K! Rotors were OK. Rears are next.

I made it about 26k before replacing pads and rotors. I did it just before the light was about to come on (according to the tech), but I wanted to get it done before winter...

No brakes until 35k? Wow! What % of your driving is highway? (not bumper-to-bumper highway)

I am replacing mine as we speak,

2005 S with 20,000 miles on it. (not my miles, but I have never been
easy on brakes either).
