Handling/suspension--GTS vs. Turbo
#3
Spoke to my Porsche Salesman who came up the ranks through the Service Department. Mechanically, the 957 Cayenne GTS and the 957 Cayenne Turbo are the same, even with PDCC. However, the GTS does have different software that controls the suspension, throttle response, transmission shifting (Tiptronic), etc.
They (my Porsche dealership) has yet to look under the hood at the software. However, they are curious as most us and will be investigating the software differences.

I have not flashed the 08 CTT yet so I'll give you my take on the 04 CTT flash, the results should be simular. I had an exhaust/cross over and the ecu flash on the 04 and I think it added approx 80hp. The big diffference was the torque, the car just had more umpfff (g), I felt for the money around $5k at the time, it was worth the upgrade.
Comparing the modded 04 CTT at approx 530hp to the unmodded 08 at 500hp the cars are really close. I think the modded 04 had a lil more torque then the stock 08 but its sure close. The same mod to the 08 should be fun.

The difference will be ride comfort and handling.. the gts does not have air suspension, it's pasm/steel springs just like the 997S setup..
I've driven a CTT with pdcc and it was awesome, but I'm pretty sure the GTS will handle better but ride comfort would be affected..
I'll est drive one tomorrow to compare with the CTT

Yes the 08 has PDCC and it makes a nice difference in comparison to the 04 without, the car does not lean as much through cornering and is a noticable difference. Interesting factoid, I ordered the car with 18"s knowing I would put aftermarket wheels on, and the car was very smooth. After I put 22"s (Champions) and a lowering module the car changed a bit to a much sportier feel, not as silkie as the 18's.
My goal was to make what Porsche should have, a 500hp + sporty SUV, as a matter of fact I wish they would get rid of the off road stuff, the car is so heavy and just do a really fast sporty turbo SUV that we can mod to 600hp. I infact ordered the Sports Design package which really makes a difference in the 'sporty' look of the vehicle. Sorta like a GTS Turbo, if there was such a thing.

Subbie: That's what I have been thinking about. Just trying to decide exactly how to option it, what will be different in '09, and how long to enjoy the CTTS before I make the jump.
