Rotor Alternatives

Anyone out there not using the factory rotors with the OE brakes? I was going to change the brake pads sometime this spring and I might change the rotors as well. I would like a drilled rotor (just for looks), but it doesn't look like Brembo makes them in the right size (350x34, 330x28).

Here are the ones that I'm looking at so far:

Factory Replacement (Brembo?) from Suncoast (~$400):

Zimmermann off eBay (~$600):

Rotera from Vivid Racing (~$1000):

I have Zimmerman on the front, very happy with them especially with Hawk dustless pads

I just ordered a set last week of front and rear rotors and pads from Zechausen Racing ... http://store.zeckhausen.com/catalog/...88_229_447_449

I decided to go with the StopTech SportStop Slotted Rotors and Hawk HPS pads. I will be cryo treating (www.cryoscience.com) the rotors prior to installation. This will cost about $25 per rotor ... this will increase the life of the rotor between 2 and 3 times of non-cryo treated rotors.

BTW - to remove the rear caliper, a XZN or "Triple Square" 12-point bit (Snap On PN STSM16E ~ $35.00) is required to remove the caliper mounting bolts. And, when performing a brake job (rotors and/or pads), Porsche recommends that you use new hardware - caliper mounting bolts, pad retaining hardware, and brake pad sensors ... for the front and rear, this costs ~ $185.00 with a PCA discount.

Rotora rotors are great. They actually make alot of OE parts for other manufactures. I have used their big brake kits on many different cars. They are a direct replacement and available in slotted or cross drilled and slotted.
