Hood Scratch
I am so pi*sed at myself right now! I do my best to keep my Pepper in top shape, nonetheless..... I arrive at my gym, and now the security guard gives you a pass too put on your windshield before entering the parking lot. So I depress the brake pedal while he is giving me the pass and I hit the mechanical arm and scratched my hood!!!!
So do you guys think touch up paint will do the trick or am I looking at painting the hood? TIA

Oh man, bad news, you'll need a body shop to paint it with your original paint. Let me tell you that according to your relationship with the body shop, it should cost you around 50- 150 usd.

Thanks canberk, would the price be for the entire hood or for the scratch only? Im clueless when it comes to bodyshop painting

They will only work on the scratched area. You can relieve yourself as after you get your pepper back from bodyshop, you won't even find where the scratch was. It will be better than perfect.

You might want to contact some of the guys on this forum http://autopia.org/forum/click-brag Find one who is a paint specialist in your area. If they can fix it, they will most likely do a better job than a body shop. Good luck to you.

Ugh terrible. You could probably do it with touch up, 3000 grit sand, fill in again with touch up, 3000 grit ect, ect, then a polish when you get it close to perfect, but it will be very labor intesive and never really look perfect.
Best bet is to get the hood re-sprayed. The labor isn't much more than it use to be, the paint prices, red mostly, have gone up considerably.

Okay, I told you that it will cost only 50-150 usd and my experience talks here. The same thing happened to me and there is a small bodyshop next to my house, they charged me 50 bucks for this and it's now impossible to tell that there was a scratch
