Yes, the touch screen works fine, although I like to use the radio **** when possible; I hate to have the touch screen smeared with fingerprints. No matter how clean your hands are, you will end up having to clean the screen just too often. The navigation via hard drive is by far better than the DVD based. Actually I was looking into getting a 2008 model, but after checking the new PCM, I simply couldn't consider getting the 2008 model. In my opinion, is by far a better system, you can even load the hard drive with MP3 files as well; I think that you can load around 20GB; but you need to have the Interface option installed to do it.

Can you have a playlist for the songs on a MP3 DVD? I thought I saw in the manual somewhere that playlists are supported, though I am not sure. And I do not know what format one would need to create a playlist in, so any help would be appreciated.

Yes, it has 30Gb.

 

Sure, the playlist will work just as a folder. You can name it Play list 1, 2, 3, or whatever...but you can only do it when burning the disc, you cannot create it on the radio / DVD player.
