Anything I should know about this. I have heard something about adding oil every now and then, whats that all about? The one I am looking at getting has about 60k miles. I do like the horsepower but hoping that it is still reliable as the s.
Thanks

50K-70K miles is right in the range of possibly needing the coolant pipe upgrade. It's not a "Oh its starting to leak, I should get it looked at", it empties the cooling system in seconds. There are 4 plastic pipes under the intake manifold that crack, requiring replacement with aluminum pipes. As far as the oil goes, yea, they use a little bit, but how much varies from car to car.

so when should I check the oil every 2 weeks or once a month? That sucks about the pipes, I guess I will try to be careful.

Normal for turbo cars to add oil...same with my old 996TT...

about every 3-5K miles depends on how you drive it..

I have not had any major problems with my 2005 CTT and I have almost 60,000 miles. I just changed the tires to Michelin Latitude HP's and the car rides like new again.

When the oil gets low, the dash display will ask you to check and every 3-4,000 miles usually add one quart of Mobil 1.

If you can get one with CPO, I would go down that route.

but about the pipes, why are they not a recall and should I replace them before hand or no?

I usually just wait for the check oil light to come on (~2-3k miles) and I add a quart. I keep a quart in car at all times.

well got a down payment on a 05 with 65k on it. I could not pass it up no matter what the mileage was. It was owned by an older couple and they had a $2k radar detector installed in it. They traded it for a Hyundai GENESIS and got a ticket on the way home

I thought the plastic coolant pipes were upgraded to aluminum ones on the '05's?

To my knowledge, all of Gen 1 Cayennes (that I've seen) had plastic coolant pipes. I have even seen them come on early reman engines. Porsche wanted the plastic pipes removed and aluminum ones installed prior to engine being installed into car.

If it starts to leak or breaks, is it covered under the factory warranty?
