GREAT JOB!
Thanks!!

The JL W7 is powered by a 2000watt USA Amp ( it originally powered both W7's )

I also have Morel's in the front hooked up to a 600watt Zapco and Focal's in the rear door's hooked up to a 600watt USA Amp.

Wired into the Z2.....

If you notice in the bottom picture, I also hooked up the stock turbo cluster screen to the Z2 for movies, ipod, general display, navi ..... I can also flick on the rear aftermarket view camera (while driving) but it will automatically display when I'm in reverse....

Beltronics RX75 plus stealth installed....

Cost varies, would have to put you in touch with the installer.

Wow. Well this is a really clean setup. I love the sub with custom trunk floor. When you have the sub on, is there any rattling coming from the trunk floor? I guess what im trying to say is, can you tell a large diff between your previous set up and the new set up. Does it hit clean or is it shaking/rattlin a lot more. Is the carpet the same/matching the existing stock carpet?

How does the RX75 work out for you? Keeping you out of trouble I hope for the $$ you had to lay down for that

Awesome set up. You should be proud.

Thanks Man, its been alot of work but I absolutely love the CTT and its been a pleasure tuning her.......

The only difference between my new setup and my old setup is the level of bass, with two 12inch W7's rocking 1000watts each, It was at a competition level and just plain overkill (rocked it during my sophmore/junior year at UConn)

But there is virtually no rattling with both W7's .....the only place I got a little bit of rattle, was from the sunroof partition when closed (blocking sunroof light) but once I buried 1 W7 in the floor, the bass was in perfect harmony with the rest of the car and there is not 1 rattle. Since the sub is now essentially part of the car it makes for a MUCH more enjoyable music experience.

I did however use a good amount of dynomat, but the Cayenne's are put together so tight, that you shouldn't worry about rattling.

The carpet covering the floor isn't an exact match, but its really close and looks completely stock.

The RX75Plus is amazing, I upgraded from the K40 and this unit is far superior......the laser diffusing is the BEST feature ever.....got out of more then a few ticks in NJ/NY/CT/PA.....

Are you referring to what is being displayed on the stock turbo cluster?

JL Audio says that their stealth box won't fit in any Cayenne later than '06. Since I can't risk losing my spare tire, and I need as much trunk space as possible, I decided to fiberglass my own enclosure in the same location. Here are some pics from the install:

sub enclosure looks great but why do you have all those amps on display if you need the trunk space? i would be afraid to put something on top of them

The floor is only raised about 3 inches, and I can throw a lot of stuff (ie...suitcases) on top with no problem. I actually have a dog bed on top that my dog sleeps on, on our way to and from work everyday, hence the reason for the grill cloth cover over the sub. The whole set up is very user friendly without the loss of much trunk space, and it sounds awesome.

Nice work and pictures, but why not just install a stock Bose subwoofer (beneath the collapsible spare tire/wheel? Is the JL that much better than the OE Bose?

I'd think more than twice to install anything that takes away cargo space.

Unfortunately no car manufacturer is going to put the kind of money into a stereo that can be produced by a knowledgeable person.

Cayenne77's setup is pretty wicked as far as SQ. I don't know what Morels he has - 2 or 3 component, but they turn Bose speakers into obsolete paperweights. Excellent frontstage. Focals, especially their Utopia series, are phenomanal. Excellent backstage fill as long as the highs don't over power the frontstage.
JL subs are awesome - there are louder, there are deeper.. but for all around deep, tight bass W7's are worth the price.

I've never heard any Bose products (home or auto) that blew me away. I hear decent sound quality, well better than decent i suppose - but not what I would consider high-end. Over priced and over rated.

I have DynAudio up front with a Alpine PDX 150.2 and a W7 in the back for a component sub powered by a PDX 500.1 -- this sound stage works perfect for me ( not so much for anyone in the back seat.. but oh well )

Morel, Dynaudio, Rainbow, Klipsch, Focal, and the like are in a whole different league than Bose. Listen to any of those powered right (McIntosh, older Zapco's, some JL's and Alpines) and most importantly --> been installed correctly and you will see, feel, hear and enjoy the tremendous difference.

Had Focals in my 996 with a custom JL sub box behind the rear seats running off of Arc Audio amps and a Pioneer Avic D3... great sound for such a small car! But the Cayenne is a whole different beast. The money to swap out everything from the 14 speaker Bose system would be very high... I would rather do a few key updates like the JL Stealthbox and keep the factory PCM and accessories. The Bose component speakers are not too bad for a stock setup so I am willing to live with them. The Stealthbox fits in the side panel so it does not take up any hatch space which I like. I figure with a 500 watt amp powering the 10" speaker it will make the existing audio system liveable.
