The Dunlops work fine on "our" type of roads in hockey season RacerX. The Continentals were an option and I run those in summer.

If you check through old issues of Christophorus magazine it will give you the factory recommended sizes and manufacturers.

An even better alternative would be the recommendations of Damon at TireRack who should chime in anytime.

I ran the Dunlops last winter on my TT and they were awesome in the snow and rode great on dry pavement - no tire noise at all. In fact, if you like the 18" wheels, I think you could run these year round.

SNOW TIRES

Just a note..
Tirerack does not currently list the recommended Dunlops snow tires on their site because they do not have them in stock. So if you are trying to figure out which to get and want to follow Porsche rec. Tirerack did tell me I could put a set on hold for when they finally came in. I was a little disappointed that I could only find this out by calling them ( so I'm passing it on ).

I don't know who you talked to or where you looked on their site, but I was just on Tireracks website. They have the Porsche OE recommended 235/60/18 Dunlops in stock. These are the tires I will be ordering in October.

The Christophorus guide and others will tell you a 235 tire is MUCH better in the snow and ice than a 255.(Thus the Porsche OE approval). That said the 255/45/18 are in stock as well.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/dunlop/dunlop.jsp

Scroll down to Grandtrek WT M2 then pick sizes and pricing or specs in the top bar.

235/60-18 XL
Blackwall N0 (Porsche OE) HR Speed Rated Price Each: $194
Estimated Availability: In Stock

255/55-18
Blackwall BMW HR Speed Rated Price Each: $192
Estimated Availability: In Stock
