Fine: Brother-in-Law was a county cop and working in the court house at the time. He knew the prosecutor and got all 4 tix dropped. Took him and his wife out for dinner and drinks. Spent about $200 that night.
Clocked Speed: 152 mph
Location: South Bend, IN
Car: Motorcycle actually; 2000 Yamaha R6
Impounded the bike and cop wouldn't even give me a ride. ******* made me walk. Thankfully a buddy lived about 2 miles away.

I don't believe one can enjoy a fast car in North America, especially not in the USA. I constantly speed in Canada and I only got caught once (I guess it made up for the other times I didn't get caught: 1365$ speeding ticket).
When I go to Turkey over the summers, I always rent different sport cars (M5, M6, Gallardo, F360, 911 Turbo, etc) and always drive very fast. The few times a cop stopped you, you can slide him a US or Euro note and he lets you go.
Now, that does mean that there are more accidents in such country. It's not true. Most people don't know how to drive in North America (I am excluding all of you as you are a member of this forum .
I am not saying traffic rules and regulations are pointless, it makes sure everything runs smooth but we cannot deny the fact that a very big part of it is intended to collect money (parking and speeding violations).
Also, it does not mean that "paying a cop" makes the country corrupted. The US and the rest of the world is as corrupted as Turkey. Corruption is the bolt that ties the wheel to the car. Without it, it won't work.
Finally and to come back to the topic of cars
- drive fast (and enjoy it)
- do it safely (for you and others)
- and don't get caught (because it's not illegal 'til you get caught)

Be advised: Ontario Impounds your car for a week for doing 50km/h. Quebec now does it for 60km/h as well. Do your speeding in atlantic canada where they're rally crazy (google the targa newfoundland) or in western canada where common sense and vast open spaces seem to prevale.

Got my '06 CS in September, First ticket obtained in Dec.....guy was pressing me from behind and had to show him who was the better driver, unfortunalty Passed the CVSE ( Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement ) cop (RCMP) who clocked me at 160km/h in a 100km/h Highway Zone:
Fine $468.00
Going to Dispute, hope he doesn't show up after I reschedule the Court Date to a Friday afternoon....never tried it before.

my buddy had a cop not show up for a 200km/h...it happens (who in their right mind is going to skip their kids birthday just for a couple hrs overtime)...but really you'd better have a solid case, a horseshoe up ur hiney and all ur stars aligned for something that lucky to happen.
