Understanding Tire Size
Sorry to sound like a rookie here, but does the 2nd number ina tire size mean the higher the number the more "thicker" the wall profile?
Like a 275/35/20 compared to a 275/40/20?
Any info would be greatly appreciated to educate me. Thanks!

The second number is the height of a single sidewall compared to the tread width.
So,
275mm across the tread
The sidewall is 35% of 275mm
The wheel is 20 inches
You need to count the sidewall twice for overall height.
or
(2(275 x .35))/25.4+20
The 25.4 is to convert mm to inches. A 275/35/20 is 27.58 inches high. A 275/40/20 is 28.66 inches high.
