The one advantage we have in the CT is a rolling start from 50-100. IF you have it in the right gear (3rd or even 2nd) and IF you have the turbos spooled, you can sneak a few seconds off the M5. In a straight up 0-60 or standing 1/4 mile, the M5 will win. Naturally, PSM off is the only choice for a little street racing. Not that I'm condoning such behavior...

That's strange... power to weight ratio.... M5 would easily beat the CT. The guy probably didnt downshift, etc.
My friend in his A8L raced his buddy's CT and they were neck and neck from 60-120. I doubt the CT owner manually shifted as they both just floored it and were side by side the entire way. The owner of the CT was pretty pissed. Maybe the CT had a boost leak of some sort? Who knows...

I have no doubts in my mind he was getting better gas mileage than I was though
I was really surprised by this. I was epecting a fun encounter where I got pulled and I was shocked at the outcome. I know it wasn't luck cause it happened several times. I don't know how the two would fare from a stop, but on the highway it was clear the Turbo Pepper was faster.
Anyone know offhand what an M5 weighs?(not the latest bangled creation, but the beautiful one with 400hp right before it)

3. most likely, the M5 was suffering from a faulty clutch which is a very common defect on the M5 due to the power the car puts out and the fact that many people suck at driving manual trans. and burn the clutches very easily. When this is the problem, if you go WOT in the M5 the clutch will start to slip and the RPMs will just start climbing with no acceleration. It can be in greater or less degrees of severity depending on how f--ked the clutch is. I have driven several M5s that have had this problem and it sucks.
FYI - If the M5 was a Dinan S2 M5, then it was making 470 bhp, and 416 lb/ft TQ and would have handed you your *** on a silver plate even w/o downshifting. See for yourself. There are also several tuners that are making close to 600 bhp with the M5 by adding a supercharger kit. It costs more than you want to know, but that doesnt mean they arent out there.
