6 Speed Manual Cayenne GTS...Yes or No?

6 Speed,

Looking at a GTS for a daily (or perhaps replacement of the Cayman) and really like the 6 speed manual option. I had a lowered (H&R) Cayenne S that handled great and had decent power - i imagine that truck only better in the GTS form + a 6 speed would be pretty fun (for a truck obv).

any imput? aonyone have one and love it? hate it? horror stories?

Thanks in advance.

Jon

I've driven one with a 6 speed and thought it was great. Throws were a little long, but that can probably be corrected. I say it depends on where you live/what kind of driving you do, I'm not sure I'd want the 6 speed in a dd. Where I live, I think the auto would be better because of the traffic and at least still have the tiptronic if I want to shift semi-manually.

the 6 speed is great fun and does not grow old in 2 hours. for stop and go you can leave it in second and deal with a cimmute. otherwise when you get it out the shifting connects you with the vehicle in a way the tip cannot.

2 hours shifting a tip - now that sounds like its getting old!

Personally I think the manual trans is what makes the GTS.

If this was my only P-car, I'll get a manual. Since I also have a 996tt, I prefer a tip for DD.

I've had my manual GTS for about 6 months now as a daily driver with a commute of about 10 miles, including dropping off my daughter at school. It's stock except I have fabspeed cat bypasses. I have always favored manual trannys, and for me, the manual makes this car. The gearing is short enough that you can make full use of the engine's potential at modest speeds. In sport mode, it's extremely responsive, quick, loud and fun.

well,,
i was about to get the 6 speed, but unfortunate, dealer here were out of it and it would take about 4 months to order new one,, so i took tiptronic,

6 speed is 0.5 sec faster in 0-60 and about 100kg lighter,,

i would go with 6 speed if i still have a choice

because it's an suv, I think manual will not be comfortable for the other passengers, as it jerks the car as you shift up or down

I have the 6 speed and it honestly does make the truck.
i was a little skeptical at first, but it was the best decision i have made.
