P21s Wheel Cleaner Gel (1/2 liter spray) from Chip at Sports Car Care.com http://www.sportscarcare.com
Spray on wheels wash the car, will hose off 99% of the dust with water after sitting for a few min. For baked on brake dust, you will have to use a brush with the P21s Gel, but you will require zero elbow grease. Just lightly brush and even the toughest brake dust will come off.
I go through this stuff fast because I use it so often. I love it.

Check out our wheelwax:

It's a polish that changes the polarity of the wheel surface to repel brake dust. Kinda cool.

I was told by Mike at HRE not to use any spray on my wheels(542R's) because it could "cloud" the finish. He said just use soapy water. Are you guys sure these products will not affect the finish of the wheels? thanks

I am avoiding any kind of brush and wheel cleaner. I used the zymol clear soap and it worked really good with a small soft sponge. The lip is pita to clean and there is noway it can't scratch.
thanks guys for the input

thanks Arling, I'm getting the blower and vacuum cleaner today. After blowing it, what towel should I use? I used absorber and the lip was never dry. I can't go circular motion on the lip right?

I use a soft OXO wheel brush on the wheels with plain ol carwash soap, or a microfiber mitt. I use a microfiber glove to clean inside the wheel, and keep it nice and clean in there. I dry my car with Waffle Weave Microfibers only. I find them to work far superior to any absorber type products

Jenner makes several great points. (and thanks for the mention, BTW!)
First, P21s wheel cleaners are, by far, my biggest seller in the wheel and tire department. They are safe for ANY wheel type, from chrome to the finest metals, finished or unfinished. The pH levels and formulation are spot-on for caring for your wheels.
Wheel waxes and synthetics such as RejeX, Klasse, and others are wonderful for minimizing the "stick-to-it-iveness" of the dirt and junk, but it's not like it will actually repel the dirt. BUT, they will minimize the work you have to put in to removing it when you do wash.
And when using a tool, just be smart about it. Use a soft-bristled brush,or microfiber towel as bjwebster mentions.
Remember, it's important to let any cleaner "activate" before actually contacting the surface of the paint/wheel/whatever. Let the soaps and cleaners do what they do and break the molecular bonds between the dirt and the surface. Spray with water, apply the cleaner, and let it sit for a few minutes and work. Then come in and gently remove.
Hope that helps! And here's a little how-to for ya: http://www.sportscarcare.com/scc/howto/wheels.asp
