If you have never driven on dedicated snow tires, you would not believe the difference. It's night and day. Really. Even if you don't get much snow, It's still cold. When a summer tire gets too cold the rubber gets hard and the traction of the tire goes completely south. Snow tires are very soft and have many sipes in the tread design. These sipes create thousands of biting edges that grab the ground to provide great traction regardless of the temperature. The Turanza's will be very slippery on the ice when they get cold.

Deetz,

I has the Dunlops last winter and they performed tremendously in snow or icy conditions. And, on dry pavement they ride as good as an all season tire. You won't even know you have snows on. You almost be tempted to leave the 22s off the ride is so good!

Dunlop or Bridgestone, you cannot go wrong. Personally - I would buy the Bridgestone. They have a higher silica content than the Dunlop for added traction. I drive them, and so does everyone else here. Both meet the industry's highest snow/ice standards. You decide, either way the traction is MUCH better.

Call me with any more questions or link through here to order.

One last question, should I follow Porsche approved winter tires? that means I have to get the Pirelli 255/55/18 if I want 255. Or 235/60/18 for the Dunlop. Honestly, I like the dunlop and it is not that expensive.

DEETZ:

You can get 255/55/18 for any of the aforementioned tires. They are all available in that size.

I'd call the stealership first and make sure they are not going to be snobs about it. Some won't do any warranty work on the wheels/tires if they are not N-spec rated. I'd buy the 235 regardless. A narrower, taller tire ALWAYS works better to get through the snow than a wider one.

Narrow vs Taller

The 235 is not taller than the 255, just narrower.

Actually PaulW you are wrong. As you can see the 235 is taller.
