Feedback requested - SportsPlus wheel in black...
Hi everyone,
Quick poll here. I'm thinking about powder coating my wheels in black and wanted to check what you guys think.
My car is the one shown in the last two pictures, whereas the car with the black wheel is part of a local dealer's inventory...
Thanks!

I have a winter set of SportPlus wheels powder-coated gloss black. My summer set are the same wheels painted gloss black. Both are all black unlike the Porsche factory paint shown in your post. The paint vs. powder-coat debate is beyond the scope of your question, but I will say both options have advantages. Make sure you pick up some black lug bolt covers and paint (or order) the center caps.
Here is the before and after - sorry about the poor quality photos.
I think titanium or gunmetal gray would look really good on your Cayenne too.

Sparkhill,
Thanks for taking the time to response. Your wheels look great. Also, great suggestions as for other set ups that may work well with my car.
As for the car above, the guys at the dealership actually had them changed upon receiving the car - this is not the original black wheels (even though it looks like it from the white line around).
Doesn't look like I will be getting many responses back on this thread but this has certainly helped already.
All the best.

Don't waste your money.
My PERSONAL opinion, black rims don't look classy at all. Every time I see cars from Ferrari's to any high end cars with black rims I just expect to see 50 cent or some thug to get out.

I like them but thats how i roll as well..
On a side note, ive had two sets powdercoated, that doesent seem to hold up as well as paint. Two different shops did the ones from my G500, both lost there shine in a few month. The last set i we did i had a body shop sand and use the same color code paint as the car with a LOT of clear coat. Also if you go to sale or trade it in ive forund some dealers love or hate the black wheels. In the past they have knocked off up to $5K for my painted wheels. If you powdercoat them you will have to have them stripped and its a pain to go back silver, where as with paint you can just scuff and spray.
These volks where gold, used dupont paint on them..
The wheels on the suburan are just dupont rattle can from lowes, but we beat the heck out of it so it doesnt matter much on it.
