Fault Code P0021
Anyone ever have this on their Cayenne before? Something about a cam tensioner sensor? Heard from my shop that dealers usually clear this code since it is a "soft code" only thing is on my car this code puts it into almost a "limp" mode under full load.
Curious as to what others have seen and had done to service this. Dropping car off at dealership next week so any info would be much appreciated. FWIW I have a factory extenend warantee.....

Custom exhaust
Proto Flash....
I googled this code and it is a known issue with regards to Cayenne's. Additionally I've spoken with my dealership and they did say it was a common code. My shop spoke with a Porsche tech and he said it was common as well. Reason why owners/people may not know about it is because the dealership when they see it usually do not mention it to customer. They "clear the code" and see if it pops back up. This code does not trigger the CEL either so some owners may have it and not even know it....
Here is some info I found...
P0021 Inlet Camshaft Position in relation to Crankshaft, Bank 2 - Above/Below Limit
Possible cause of fault
- Timing set incorrectly
- Chain extended
- Camshaft adjuster loose
- Rotor of inlet camshaft sensor in incorrect position
- Inlet camshaft sensor not installed correctly
