Painting Suggestions PLEASE!!! :-)

This is my car. I have an apt to at a body shop to get the pillar posts, side moldings and roof rails painted black. Should I do flat black or glossy paint? He said he will do either or for the same price.

Also I am getting my wheels painted black next week. Should I leave the lip chrome or should I do the whole thing? Im super confused. Just want it to look nice. Thanks guys!

Do you have a photo shop/paint program? You can paint it yourself in the computer to check it out. Or just print off a couple of pics and get a black sharpee/other pen and experiment. This will give you an idea of what it will look like. That being said, I think I would go with a semi-gloss black on the rails, etc., gloss black on the rims (the entire rim).

do shiney on the trim. if not it will look like the amg mercedes did of the early 2000... just doesent look correct..

unless those are two or three piece wheels it will be very hard to leave the lip polished. We pulled it off on the supra by taking the wheels apart.

Recommend gloss as the contrast between the gloss base paint and the flat trim color would be noticeably ugly (which I assume you just want a smoother overall look to the truck).

I'm partial to all black. I've never been a fan of silver trim.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I initially told them flat black because thats what he was pushing. Probably because it costs less or is less work.

Jeff thats exactly the look I want. That Porsche looks wicked!!!! My truck is getting lowered as we speak. I dropped about 1k on everything out the door, but im not expecting much from the drop. I am running 21" bbs's so I guess I will wait and see how it looks.

As far as trim goes, im going to do the gloss look. Does anyone know if thats what the turbos and gts come with???

For wheels.. still 50/50

I have a Turbo with the "black exterior package" and it is matte not gloss. Has the shop told you how the paint will adhere to the trim? I'd be concerned that it will easily chip

I never asked to be honest. However they do a LOT of high end cars and its a well reputable shop. For $1000 if it chips, im sure it will come with some warranty.

Ricky, As ESK mentioned it's flat black.
Here's a better picture of my CTT from a different angle. You can see the contrast in the gloss and the matte trim.

Be sure to post pics when you're done!!

Nice, I wonder if anyone tried to open the headlights to custom make the black housing headlights.

I know this has been very popular in other makes/model.

Good question. I would do it tomorrow if it was possible.
I know with the 08's you can order that as an option.

I think a flat black would look nice over a glossy black, but i beleive either way it will chip eventually?
