Conversion kit to move tiptronic shifters to behind the steering wheel?
I don't know about you guys, but I've always found that the tiptronic shifters on the front of the steering wheel are pretty weird and I don't really like using them. I feel that they are more difficult to use then standard behind the wheel shifters with the paddles.
Has anyone made a conversion kit to get the up/down shift functionality onto paddles?
Anyone know if its possible?

Although this is for the 997 with the PDK transmission.

hi, i know this is my first post, but i agree.
i find it akward to change using my thumbs, i have a boxster s also that has the same tiptronic buttons
my BMW 535d just had steptronic (on the gear leaver) and i chainged that to the SMG paddle shift, the problems you will have to over come is with the "squib" (the part behind the steering wheel boss) it contains the wiring and has to swivel/spin when you turn the wheel, so as not to get tangled up (if that makes sence) you will need to buy a cayenne squib, and re wire it, fitting paddle shifters themselves is no big shakes, a simple circular bracket in front of the boss will work. and the paddles can be used both to up and down shift or be side specific. that way you can retain the original look and not loose the steering wheel buttons.
ps: great forum guys.
david.

I've been thinking that same thing - was looking at an Audi RS6 wheel for my S6 for the same reason.
I'm thinking someone could wire on of those up on the Cayenne? Same controls. I'm not bright enough, though
