WTF - plastic parking brake release
I can't believe that the entire parking brake release handle is made of plastic.
Needless to say, it broke off the mount with the brakes locked in place. The Pepper is supposed to be built like a tank except the for brake release.
For the record, it's an 2004 model with about 65K miles.
Hmmm ... wonder if that's a 60k stealer service item.

my ex-04 CS had that hand brake handle broken 3 times, all replaced under warranty.
I never felt that the problem was due to poor Porsche parts, I think I trained too hard at the gym and my bicep is too strong for the hand brake to handle. Since then I reduced my gym time and watch more TV.

I'm the 2nd owner of my CS, I found a service record for the replacement of parking brake release lever sometime ago.
I mistakenly pulled it twice (w/o pressing the parking brake w/ foot) before I read the user manual. I'm still puzzled why Porsche made it that way, too fragile design waiting for the disaster to happen....

My CS was built in Oct, 2006.
Don't know what the previous owner did,,,,
Porsche should have went with the design, press pedal down to engage and disengage it by pressing down w/ your foot again, we've seen this from other SUV/trucks.

use your left hand, go underneath the plastic cover behind the hand brake release area, fish around, you will "find" a silver lever that you can pull on. Pull it and it will release a spring and hence the parking brake.
