Changed the Interior Trim

After reading everyone's varying opinions on wood trim, I decided to pull the trigger and picked up a new olive (matte) wood trim set off eBay for about $500.

I prefer the wood trim look in the cayenne, especially the light wood with the dark interior. I love the color contrast. Installation was really easy and only took about 30-45 minutes. The hardest part was the trim around the ignition on the left side of the steering wheel.

Also attached a picture that shows my 20% window tint. Next step is getting the exterior trim painted black. Can't stand the aluminum look with the silver exterior.

Opinions are appreciated!

Post pictures after you get the carbon fiber put in jyupitt. I bet it will look great; while it might be darker, it will retain that sporty look lost with wood. I was initially interested in CF over wood, but the price difference really determined my decision to go with the latter.

Good luck and enjoy the new trim!

Looks good... Just enough to be tasteful without going over the top. Congrats on a nice final product. - I'd put new wheels somewhere on the list of future mods, then the outside will look just as good as the inside.

Well done, looks great! the wood trim really stands out in a black interior.
I have the same trim ,but with a beige interior
While it does look good, the problems with the wood trim steering wheel(especially in hot Florida) are that if your car is parked in the sun for a while, the wheel is too hot to touch ... that it has a plastic feeling and if your hands are wet it is also slippery...so i am going to exchange my wood trim steering wheel for a beige leather one, which feels more pleasant to the touch anyway

Will do. They will be installed along with GTS wheels, Bypass, BMC filters and Bypass. Can't wait!

i put that on my black cayenne too; i really like the wood on the black. great choice.

i like the black trim around the PCM and swapped it out for my aluminum trim opposite what you did.

the look is so much richer isn't it

I wanted the wood when I bought mine. You need the wheel in wood and that will finish it off!
Nice job!

The wood looks great. What year is your Cayenne? I've been looking at the same kit on ebay but it says for the older series but when I contacted the seller he said it SHOULD work.

Mine is an '08 and the trim set that I bought fit perfectly. I don't believe there are any interior trim differences between the pre- and post-facelifted cayenne's. The only thing that might be different in your '09 is the trim around the PCM, so you might want to double-check that.

All-in-all, I think you should feel confident that the set you've found on eBay will fit.

Seeing as you live in Pittsburgh too, I'll install it for free for a drive in the TTS...just kidding...no...really.

Thanks for the offer. I will take you up on it if I go for the kit. As far as a ride goes, I will pm you when in Pittsburgh (actually live in Greensburg) and you can take it for a spin. Are you going to the Pgh Grand Prix?
