12V+ source

Does anyone on here know of a good 12V constant and 12V switched source inside of the cayenne? Im installing a set of headrest monitors in the front seats and need a good source to tap into near the middle of the car. Im hoping that there is one in the center console area potentially before taking it apart to see? Thanks!

read half a dozen earlier posts where the positioning of 12v power points is explained, there are 6 (front/mid/rear) that supply constant power source.

Ive seen those. Im not looking for something that I can plug in an adapter into an outlet but rather hardwire it by tapping into an existing wire.

and they are excatly the wires that every auto electrician taps into to hard wire a 12v source that requires a constant unswitched power.
just pull the unit apart and tee off into the power/earth.

if i were you I'd splice them to a switched power cable, instead of unswitched ones, to save your battery..

that would be no good if there is a memory involved.
i would think about 6 or more things run in our cars with unswitched power with no drainage problems

accessory sockets
memory seats
radio
phone
aux heater
hazzard warning lights
interior lights
etc
etc

Thats the thing. This requires both 12V constant and 12V switched as well. My main goal of this post was to find out a 12V switched.

I know that the outlets supply the 12V constant. No biggie, the monitors are being delivered today so Ill poke around the car tonight to see what I come up with.

I would use a cigarette lighter plug on the back of the car, right as soon as you open your trunk on the right side. I installed Dension gateway and used that constant power source. It is very easy to access.

when my headrest monitors were fitted the sparky took the power from the power socket (unswitched) and for a switched supply he used the light from the arm rest light., both down between the front seats.

good luck

This was actually pretty easy. Only took 3.5 hrs total install time. I was able to tap the 12V constant and the 12V switched and ground all on the power plug harness at the back of the center console.

I know this thread is as old as the internet, but I am having trouble finding switched as well. Where is the power plug harness that you are talking about?

Take the radio out, used those; it has the switched power, constant power, ground (though recommend using frame for that).
