Need help about Asanti rims just purchased

Hi guys I just purchased a used 22" rims Asanti AF-122 from someone with 5x112 lug pattern; hub 57.1 to 66.5. I tried them on my 2006 Cayenne S and realized that they do not fit because the Cayenne hub is actually 71. What should I do now guys? Is there anyway that I can either change the hub of cayenne or the wheels? The wheels are not staggered, so will they fit the cayenne?

You can have the hub drilled out pretty easily, call a wheel shop and ask them if they can or if the know a good machine shop. And machine shop can do it...

Most guys here don't run staggered wheels...

So i will just buy the new lug bolts 5*130 that fit the cayenne. Is drilling the hub of the wheels the best way? Or are there any other methods...

The 5X130 is not a measurement of bolt size. It is a measurement of bolt pattern on the wheel and hub. The first number is the amount of studs or holes of the wheel and the second number is the distance between the two studs as referenced below. See below

You cannot put the wheels with a 5X112 pattern on a hub that has a 5X130 pattern. I bolts/holes will not fit. Another way of making the wheels fit is to use an adapter but I wouldn't recommend it. Here is a site for wheel adapters if you really want to use them

Why don't you recommend the adapter? Would it damage the either the wheels or the car?

If you were to use an adapter for your wheels, you may not be covered by your insurance company. Its all about liability these days.

I had an Chevy Astro van back in the day. It was lowered and I put some 3 piece wheels for a BMW. Chevy's use a 5x5(5 bolt, 5 inches) pattern and the BMW use a 5X112(5 bolt, 112 mm). I used some billet adapters to make them fit. The van looked great and drove fine. There wasnt anything wrong. One day I decided to review my insurance policy. The subject came up if my wheels would be covered if the vehicle was stolen. Somehow the topic of the adapter came up and they told me that my van would not be covered if the adapters failed and I got into an accident.

People have been using adapters for a long time with no problems. It's common to use them but its the liability issue that worries me all the time.

Again, this is just my opinion.

The Cayenne fitment is a 5x130 bolt pattern and it has a 71.6 Center bore. If the wheels you have are 22" with a 5x112 Bolt pattern, and if the Center bore is 57.1 then they would have most likely come off an Audi or a Bentley. If they are 66.6 CB then they would have come off a Mercedes. Those wheels will not fit your Cayenne no matter what.

Even if you used Adapters, the wheels would then hang out the fenders by at least 2 inches. You need to give those wheels back to who ever sold them to you and get your money back.

If you are interested in a set of 3pc rims for your Cayenne, take a look at our website at www.nutekwheels.com you can send me a PM and I will be happy to assist getting you a good deal on a set of 3pc wheels, that will be 100% Functional on your vehicle.

Trying to continue some way of fitting what you got is like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole...the applications are just too far apart and do not share any measurements.

I hope this is helpful.

not only will the wheels not fit unless you get an adaptor (that will put more strain on your bearings) the centre bore is wrong and the offset is way out for a cayenne.

short answer is to change 2 of these things and even forgetting the offset, the wheel would be dangerious and unsafe.

sell them on again to an audi owner.

A wheel specialist guy told me that he could drill the hub, and then fix the lugs on the cayenne so that they will fit the rims...

Under NO circumstances do this modification - it will all end in tears. Do NOT mess with the wheels.

please take this advice your life could depend on it.

wheels/tyres/brakes the 3 things that keep you in contact with the road.

That would be really tough to do...it is common to be able to drill and insert wheels from time to time, but you can usually perform that task when you are going maybe 2-4mm meaning, you could drill a 5x112 to a 5x114.3, (Going from a Mercedes wheel to a Lexus wheel application) then you have to also properly machine the centerbore to match, then the next big factor is the X-Factor and offset of the overall rim...you need to have the proper brake clearance and offset measurement...the bolt pattern is 18mm different on what you have, there is no way to make what you have work. I have given you very solid information, if there was a way to make fit what you have then I would come forward and tell you, but like I mentioned, you are trying to fit a square peg in to a round hole by trying to fit those wheels on to a Cayenne. If you would like to discuss what options you have, I am more than willing to answer your questions over the phone...please feel free to call me @ (714) 921-5272
Unfortunately you were sold wheels that will not fit your car. If you try to modify those wheels and bolt them on to your car you are facing a serious risk that could damage your car, and you may risk modifiying them enough that you will not be able to recover your investment and have them end up being able to fit nothing at all.

Wow, I had a professional collision expert tell me they could put Hummer H1 doors on a Cayenne also...

I think my comment was geared more towards you do not have a Hyundai. you are not only endangering the other people on the road, your passengers, but yourself also.

I wish our motor vehicle standards were what they are for the Autobahn, I just seen a Chevy caprice 3' off the ground with 28" rims
