thats a very tragic story, and i feel very sorry for all concerned.

BUT, what the hell was he doing letting a 13 year old drive a car (any car)
over here you cant drive a car untill 17 with a provisional licence, and even then it must be with a full licence holder in the car.
im sure you cant drive at 13 in the USA ??

This is a tragic loss of life and I feel for the 13 year old. However, as the owner of a Porsche SUV who lives in the Bronx and who has a 12 year old son (and a 9 year old son) the only response I can have is WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FATHER THINKING??????

Again, I feel awful for the family and particularly for the little boy who will have to carry this baggage for the rest of his life but how very irresponsible of that father. How very sad.

 

At 15 I had my own car. But again 13 to 15 is a big change at a growing stage. At 14 I used to steall my dad's car until he gave up and gave me one at 15... But this was almost 20 years ago, things were a lot different back then.

I was in shock when I saw that news, very sad. This kid will grow with pain and remorse for many years and sandly wasn't his fault as his just a kid and had no intentions. It's indeed a very rare type of accident. Never heard anything similar to that.
