Seeee Ya!
Autoweek reports that the nxt gen Cayenne will be the last. VW has decided to terminate the Cayenne and Panamera models (7 year run), citing model dilution within it's 10 BRAND umbrella. Porsche is set to concentrate on "sports cars" only. welcome to the NEW WORLD ORDER

the model T ford was one of the most sucsesfull and widly sold cars of all time but came to an end.
same with the VW beetle and old mini.
its not about how sucsesfull or popular, or even if its the best cash cow, its about corporate stratagy/image (the long term plan) and not compeating with yourself.
the choices as i see it are/were in order to not compeat with each other the different cars of porsche/VW audi/ seat (et al)
a large suv had to go, now vw is in keeping with family cars (as is the audi Q7) but porsche is not...its very sports car oriented, so the decision for the board was easy.
if the desicion to revert to a pure sports car company again was reached then it was a tragic but inevitable outcome.
in business you have to sometimes stop selling your best product in order to "shift/sell/relaunch" other products that would not stand so much of a chance with the top sellar still being there.
its almost politics on a car scale.
after all they dont care a squat about our cayenne's they care about the shareholders dividends.
