Exclamation Lowering module for early 2004... not good

Hi guys, thought I would share some of my recent experience to help out the other Cayenne owners out there. I have been trying to get a lowering module for my 2004 Cayenne Turbo for several months now. Tried the 9ff, Renntech, and finally the Techart all without success. After all the headache and hassles I think I have identified the issue...apparently Porsche used a different control module for the air suspension in early production date Cayennes (Mine was a 09/03 build date). When checking with Techart on this latest fiasco it seems that as of 01/04 there was a system in place by Porsche that is supported with the electronic lowering modules. Anything earlier than that production date required lowering links and was not electronically modifiable. Not sure if anyone else has had similar experiences with early model Cayennes but wanted to pass along my situation so no-one had to go through what I went through...

The good news though... is that the Renntech module from Evan at Serious Autosport and the Techart module from Ammo-Collector are now soon to be back on the market. So if your interested contact them before they are gone!

good info.
but i think it may only be applicable to NA cars as on my old cayenne S (2003 early) i had the techart lowering module and it worked right out of the box.
so when i bought a turbo (late 05) i got another unit.
wish i had just taken the old one off.

tough look with all that hassle.

Well, this is why I posted... I did talk with Renntech engineers and they could not get their module to work. Said the truck was not compatible. Techart said the same thing and when you look at their product list it plainly states the lowering module is only supported from production date 01/04 and later. The top tuner guys in the bay area could not figure it out either. If someone can help get this Techart module to work I would be very appreciative!

Tech product guide (page 39) shows that the module is for 01/04 and they have a separate solution for 12/03 or older - which is the lowering links.

ONE234, are you sure you had a Techart... those units do not just work out of the box, they require calibration. Mine is a Turbo by the way.

DanH, interesting how Cargraphic lists theirs... they also show a different system for the 2003 and early 2004... so maybe they developed a module for that early system which Renntech and Techart did not. Will check into it!

the term "straight out of the box" means here it was ok, and did not need any altering or modifications, of course i had to get it coded, thats a pre requsite. it was not done at the dealers though, it was done with autologic diagnostic tool.

Interesting ONE234, since according to the Techart website my production date is not supported. Any chance you can share the tips on how your module was coded?

no problems.
i took it to mark at cartronics (byfleet surrey uk)
and he connected it via OBD2 using autologic diagnostic live time and "told the car it had new hardware"
you can program anything that PWIS can do with autologic.
i have had 2 of my cars done there, took 10 mins cost £49

check there web site.

Just a quick update... found out that Techart does sell an upgraded sensor kit that will allow the lowering module to function on pre 01/04 years but the kit retails for $899! So, I now have the Techart module back for sale in the classifieds section.
