Name this leak...

So it is coolant.......In a way that's good news as far as your transmission is concerned..... However, I have found that when the coolant pipes go the coolant running down through the torque converter can damage the input shaft seal, so the quicker you get the coolant leak repaired, the better....IMHO

I wish you the best of luck... I too had the coolant pipes go out on me and shut off the vehicle within 2 minutes of it happening. I had it towed back to the dealer to have the pipes replaced... only to have my transmission seal go within 48 hours of picking it back up from the dealer. Once the coolant pipes break I think it is too late to prevent damage to the transmission seal, either it will fail from the coolant or not. The only prevention is to replace the coolant pipes before they break and leak coolant onto the transmission - which is not a cheap fix.
