Heater problems

Any body ever have any issues with their heater? Mine cycles cold air even when the heater is set to 85° or max. Took it to the dealer ship and they replaced a fan in the dash (for $1000) that did'nt help the problem. Took it back a couple months later and told them cold air was still comming on when the heater was on. They told us this is in the manual, it helps to cool the motor down and is normal... sounds like BS if it were to cool the car down why blow cool air instead of hot. If you have any ideas would love to here them.

Did you run diagnostics on the climate control? The Durametric tool can do this... helped me find a bad servo motor for airflow on one of my vents. Your symptoms sound like a faulty interior temp sensor to me... see if there are any codes showing.

P.S. That BS about it cooling the motor is too funny!!!! LOL

there is a valve, that separates the air outlet that goes into your glovebox, which is always cold during winter, and uses the cooled air when the air temp outside is warm. That valve can be a faulty valve in your case, which causes the cold air to be released into the cabin.

Thanks for the info Reborn996. The only code they found was for the fan they replaced in the dash...that did not work. I will take it back and have them run a diagnostic on the climate control. Thanks for the help.

Did you confirm if it was failed flap motor or the cabin temp sensor?

My 05CTT is doing the same and my mechanic is not sure what it is and is suggesting replacing the temp sensor as there are no codes indicating any failures.

Anyone ever replace the temp sensor?
