Should I buy a 2006 Cayenne V6?

Hello all,

I'm debating buying a 2006 Cayenne V6 from my mother-in-law for my wife to drive (replacing a BMW 328xi). I'm not new to the platform as we had a 2005 VW Touareg V6 and I currently drive a 2007 Audi Q7 4.2 so I know most of the in's and out's of how they drive and act... I think!

So here is what she has...

It has about 39,000 miles on it now and we wouldn't buy it until the summer so probably have 45,000 miles by then. Price seems decent as with sales tax and all it should be about $25,000. It's in good shape, needs a good detail but otherwise good.

So, any warning signs to look out for? I'm not really scared of the mileage (my Q7 has 93k on it and I bought it new 3 years ago). Service I am sure will be expensive but so is the service on the Q7. Any reason not to do it?

Depending on the regulations in your State you may be able to save on the sales tax, if the vehicle is a gift from your mother in law to your wife.

In Ontario we can transfer vehicles between parents and their children without paying any sales tax.

Big bonus!

Guessing that she won't care much about speed, in that case I say go for it. The Cayenne V6 sounds great just doesn't move very fast. It's still a porsche tho and pretty luxurius too

I have a 2006 Cayenne V6 and really like it. I just did my 60K service and their have been no issues (under warranty and now not) to speak of.

I have a 2006 Cayenne with Navi in silver with a 65k list that I picked up for 25k with 23k miles. I love the vehicle, albeit is slow, but is decent in tip mode. I drove a 2008 with the DISI and the 290 HP and it is much better. However, it is a fantastic vehicle, and I have had it a year and now have 28k on it...my wife is stay at home and doesn't drive much.
