Porsche cdc-4 install

My 2004 CS is factory prepped for a six disc player (pre wired/bracket/amp/single in dash player with navigation) I picked up a cdc-4 used player on ebay and everything is ready to go. My question is what is correct way to remove the carpeted right rear side panel so i can mount the player in the bracket. Thanks, Mike

I had a write up on this, I'll look for it and post for you, it's not easy there's plenty of trim that has to come off.

Mike or JayJ, I'd be interested in the post on removing/installing the CDC, especially if it's in the lower passenger side of trunk as with the C4 and TT models. I searched for the post but couldn't find it. I'm attempting to remove mine to insert a loop back and you would think it would be simple enough but apparently not the case. One side has the 10mm nut but the other side of the bracket appears to be hidden behind the amp and there is no room to attempt to unscrew the CDC from the bracket. Could be just that I don't have the right tools but it seems crazy that the amp and the NAV unit also need to be removed to get to the other side of the CDC bracket.

Thanks

Angry Porsche cdc-4

dano, you are right, there is no room and a real pain. I can't really help you. on my install, i ended up paying a hundred bucks to a local hi end auto stereo shop. he mounted the player and ran the optic cable to the amp and that was it. good luck, mike
