oil presure monitoring fail
I have a Cayenne turbo and since i bought it every morning especially on a cold start i hear a beep and see in the dashboard "oil presure monitoring fail" i took the car to the garage several times and they replaced all sensors pumps and staff that have to do with the oil but still the same. Did anyone ever had this problem?
thx

No, I don't have that problem but if I did, then I would insist it get fixed. My CTT uses too much oil and I have relied upon that sensor to let me know when to add a quart of oil. These use oil and I seem to add a quart of Mobile One about 1500 miles.
Get it fixed. It could be a computer problem or something much more serious.

Hi,
I had a similar problem. (See my thread below).
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-me-crazy.html
Do your oiltemp gauge dip?
The Authorised Porscheshop here in Stockholm could not solve this for me. They simply could not find the reason to my problem.
After they had changed the oil level sensor
and the instrument cluster the problem was still there.
But i was lucky to find another shop w a very good Porschetech.
And he found the problem to be in the cables from the sensor to the instrument cluster (due to poor english i´m not sure i explain this correct).
Anyway, let the shop check the cables. It might be the problem for you as well.
In my case one of the cables were either squeezed or something causing short circuit. If i understood it correct.
good luck
Peter

Make sure the shop don´t pull out all the cables. That could be expensive.
They should measure each one of them instead to see if there is a problem w anyone of them.
Again, do your oil temp gauge dip when you get the warning?

For generation 2 Cayennes, have your local dealer look into bulletin #0805 as it directly relates to this, might be worth a try anyway:
- Engine fan
One or more of the complaints listed below occur.
Instrument cluster:
- Incorrect or misleading messages and warnings displayed in the instrument cluster,
e.g. System fault/Oil pressure too low/Brake force distribution warning/no speed displayed/airbag
or ABS warning light comes on,
- No messages displayed in the instrument cluster,
- All lights in the instrument cluster come on at the same time.

Diagnosis:
- No or only limited diagnosis

using the PIWIS Tester (diagnosis can only be performed on the DFI,
Tiptronic, transfer gear, rear/door, headlight beam adjustment and KESSY control units).
These complaints are caused by the failure of the gateway control unit. This situation can be resolved immediately by “
resetting” the gateway control unit.
To reset the gateway control unit, switch off the ignition, remove fuse 40 (fuse carrier on left of dashboard)
and then reinsert it. The function of the gateway control unit is OK again following the reset, the
complaint is resolved and the vehicle is ready for driving.

You should probably still have this checked by your local dealer, but this also might be worth a try, and if this does not work, they will have to replace the gateway module. Pulling the fuse may potentially set other faults, so know that going into it as well.
