Fabspeed exhaust installed
Just got the fabspeed exhausts installed along with the tips on my 2009 cayenne S. The evo intake will be installed on thursday. As of now i have BMC filters, bypass and exhausts on. Here is my impression:
- Fit and finish is excellent, the tips are a big improvement over the stock S tips.
- Did not feel any noticeable performance improvement, and wasn't expecting any.
- The sound is a deep but smoother vroom; compared to my stock exhaust with the bypass setup before, it is louder but not significantly so. I do missed the raw metallic /raspy sound, but love the deeper tone. So instead of machine gun like ( Gatatatata) now its more like a (wooahhhh)... Interior deciple has definitely doubled under medium and hard acceleration. But at idle it's dead quiet.
Overall I like the upgrade, and hoping to report further after the break in period along with the addition of the intake.
Oh there was a gallardo that pulled up to me, revved his engine, I revved back and he gave me the thumbs up.

I did the Cargraphic bypass and exhaust with BMC filters and the friggin thing sounded like a V8 racecar w/ straight pipes. It was awesome, and the car ran great, but was hella LOUD.
Now I put the OEM secondary cats back on, and it's still pretty aggressive.

evo intake is going in this sat, i will shoot a video after.
We can have a comparison with stock, with bypass bmc only and full exhausts. I have the videos for the first 2.

Finally got the evo intake on. Didnt feel a noticeable increase in power, or a change in sound initially. And to be fair, I didnt spend much time in car after the install either.
Now here is the funny part, I went downstairs to make a video for everyone. First run i let my friend to drive it, and this is the first time i hear the car from the outside...
Let's put it this way, I didn't get to finish the video. I live in a high rise condo, and i was running the car on an empty deadend street infront of my building. My neighbors threaten to call the cops, my doorman had to come out to tell me the stop, and as i looked up, we had quite an audience watching us from their windows.
So out of respect for my neighbors, we stopped and never finished the video. The sound that this combo makes is ferocious, borderline obnoxious but I love it. So yes I believe the intake did add to the sound, and in terms of performance, I would need to drive it some more to report.
GIAC is next!

GIAC is the answer:
GIAC performance software for the 2010 - 2007 Cayenne® DFI S/GTS® smoothly delivers a 27-32 hp and 43-48 ft lbs gain. For optimum performance the software must be coupled with an exhaust. The flash includes improved drivability, with power and torque gains across the entire rev range. Some areas gain as much are 40 ft lbs of torque at the wheels. There is improved throttle response for a drive-by-cable system feel. The flash incorporates increased torque limits to accommodate additional hardware modifications. Stock mode and a handheld switcher are included with purchase. Additional switching modes (Anti-theft, Valet) may be available for purchase in the coming months.

JYUPITT1 - Sounds like you are getting the sound improvement you want (but maybe not the one your neighbors want...ha.)
I have an '04 CTT with the Fabspeed secondary cat bypass and otherwise everything else is stock. I love the way it sounds. Has a slightly louder idle but really comes alive around 3500 - 4500 vs the nearly dead silent stock exhaust. I think I also noticed a modest throttle response improvement and just overall slighly more power throughout the band (but this could just be audible improvement).
Reason for my post is after the install, literally the first day after driving about 50 miles I got a check engine light. Engine was running pretty rough. No stalling or anything but just running like it had a really bad tune. Next time I got in the car it was 100% fine. No light, no rough running. Over the past 6 mos since I installed the Fabspeed bypass (and not making any other single modification) the rough idle/run has come back about 5 or 6 times - always lasts for about 20 mins or so, usually until I stop the car turn it off, let it sit for a few mins, and then restart and the problem is gone.
Has this happened to anyone else with the Fabspeed bypass pipes? Fabspeed says you are not supposed to throw any codes or get any lights, but I would be really surprised if it was something else considering the first time it happened was minutes after installing the Fabspeed bypass.

I've had mine for over a year and no problems ever?? When was your last service? how many miles on your ctt?

One thing I don't like since day one is the transmission, there is always a slight pause (even in sport mode), and sometimes I feel its in the wrong gear and I do sometimes experience some rough shifting. Wish there is a tuner software for the trans.

have you tried driving with the PSM off? mine is also rough and wrong gear on take off, when I turn off psm it runs great? I've actually started driving with the steering controls and big difference.
