Cayenne feedback please

I have just got a 2007 Cayenne in France and the manual is not English so I'd appreciate some feedback from other Cayenne drivers. First tiptronic: getting the most from it, 1. If you are driving in auto, should you press both tiptronic thumb switches together, or can you just press one, 2. Is the idea to press "-" (minus) to go down a gear, then accelerate from there? 3. After that, does the automatic gear change automatically take over again to change up the next gear when the revs demand, or do you have to continue changing up on tiptronic? 4. When I first filled up the 100 litre tank, the display showed about 370 miles to next refill, so about 17 mpg, after a couple of weeks when I fill up the display shows about 220 miles to next refill, so about 10 mpg. Does the system constantly assess your driving conditions and average consumption and change the forecast? Most my driving is long distance across Europe, so on clear roads with good conditions 120-140 mph. Is 10 mpg about what other drivers expect? Thanks for any feedback.

1. Only one wheel switch is required to do the job. Both switches do the same thing.
2. The minus side of the switch will shift you down to the next lower gear. For example, if you are running in 5th gear and you press the minus side of the tiptronic switch the gear will change to 4th.
3. The transmission will go back into automatic mode after a bit of time, but only if PSM is switched on. If you have disabled PSM it will stay in manual mode until you shift back into auto mode with the shift ****
4. The on board diagnostic system is constantly adjusting your mileage.

As for your final question... I WISH I could drive that fast over long distances to give you an idea of my consumption at that speed. As it is (70 to 75 mph over long distance, smooth roads) I get between 17 and 18 mph.

enjoy your cayenne!

Boloxster, thanks very much for the answers. It looks like your mpg is similar to what mine was reading before the open road trips. So 17 mpg looks more like the norm. Thanks again.
