Porsche Marketing at it again: Surprise in the mailbox

Porsche's marketing department really never ceases to amaze me. I found this little surprise in the mailbox today. After opening the satin black box was a cover letter and booklet. Under that, surrounded in black foam was a black anodized plaque reading:
" The new Cayenne. Born in Leipzig. You hold in your hands an actual piece of guardrail from the Porsche Leipzig test track. It's here that the new Cayenne became more agile, more efficient and more Porsche than ever."

and next to it the piece of guardrail from the test track. The stand on the plaque is magnetic and allows the guardrail to be displayed. Bravo Porsche.

Porsche did a mass mailing of these about a month ago. I received one a few days ago. There was a site to request one of these but I never used it - received one anyway. If I could figure out how Porsche decides what to send to who, I could understand bank derivatives. Glad to receive it but never sure what to do with these things Porsche sends.

I think you are supposed to mount it to the dash and ask your passenger to try to grab it while you floor it.

Got mine on Monday - now if I can get another 76,325 sent to me under alias names, I will build my own test track. Anyone know of a company giving away sample welding rods?

Are you referring to his section of guardrail?
