Thumbs up CT Dyno Chart Comparo - Softronic / Giac / Protomotive / EPL / Evoms

I've looked numerous times and have not found any good dyno information on these tunes. If you got a dyno tune on your 955 Cayenne turbo, can you share it with us? This is about the last mod I'm going to do to mine and if one makes 20hp/20tq more than another I don't want to make the wrong decision.

From what I have been able to find, it appears most of the marketing material states 60hp/60tq. Very vague. And I did find one with a chart but it had an intake and cat-bypass.

Tell me what you know. THANKS!

i feel your pain, i have had many tuned cars and have found that German car tuners don't give hard numbers and charge ridiculous prices. Most give +HP numbers at crank which requires pulling the motor to dyno which i doubt they do. The one i love the most is that mufflers give +20 hp which in real world is about 5hp at the wheels if they give any at all. I would stay away from tunes since it voids your warranty if you have one and mail order tunes tend to be on the rich side for safety. Also 2-3k for a tune just because its a Porsche is silly. I love how mufflers are 2-4k, rofl you can get magnaflow exhaust that sound better for $500 installed. Venders say the high price is due to R&D which is BS since most are just copies of other products with a minor change or two.

Not to stray from the topic too far but I have had upgraded ECU's on countless cars and have never once had a warranty issue. BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, etc.

Dealers can tell if the ECU has be tampered with and will void your warranty if found. Blow your motor with a bad tune and YOU pay for the new motor. Every car manufacturer will void your warranty with a aftermarket ecu tune.

If the motor is blown as a result of the bad tune, why would it be warranty in the first place? If you buy a cheap tune, you run the risk of there not being the long term feedback on a tried and true tune, which is why I wouldn't want to save a few hundred bucks to get "X" tune, when you can get one that is known, and reputable, and the risk of a blown engine due to a tune is deacreased DRAMATICALLY. Most tunes still have failsafes, though some "cheap" tunes may overlook some of the safety features. I guess that's a risk some are willing to take.......

Factually incorrect - at least in my experience with numerous tuned cars. I have never had a warranty voided or any issue with a dealer - then again I have always paid the price for a reputable tune.

I know some people have had issues and some of it seems to be dealer specific but I don't want someone to be scared off from modding with the wrong impression that they will absolutely void their warranty.

I need whatever your smoking, when you mod your ECU your car will not be warrantied if they test and find it had been modded. The only company that allows modding is BMW and only through Dinnan and actually bmw doesnt warranty the car Dinnan will warranty any problems that are directly affected by the Dinnan product. Porsche will void your warranty for just a lowering mod. Tuners don't warranty anything because they know the results can be disastrous.

I'm betting your a vendor posting this crap about tunes not voiding warranties. When you get tunes you have to pay to play.

As for mail order tunes they are all crap since the tuner never see's the car/truck. Every car is different and if your tuning it should be on a load bearing Dyno or tuned on the road for real world driving. Also temp, humidity, altitude play a big part in the tune. I've had high hp z06 650rwhp, bmw m6 475rwhp, ford lightning 750rwhp and Cobra 890rwhp. All tuned to my car by the tuner. I ran winter and summer tunes on all cars to keep it safe.

Taking your car to a tuner is the RIGHT way to go not with an expensive mail order cookie cutter tune. Trusting a 100k+ car to a tuner that you have never met, no nothing about his/her training and no guarantee of safety is just silly. Well unless money or the car means nothing to you.

Also im talking about ECU tuning not mechanical tuning like exhaust etc. although Porsche will void your warranty for oiled aftermarket filters.

I asked my Porsche service head who is a friend of mine as i too am looking to lower my CTT. He said that if any problems arise and Porsche can tie the problem to the lowering mod that they will void the warranty. He told me if you can't take the mod off before you bring in the car/truck for a problem don't do it. Im toying with going with links for a slight drop when i put on 22's.

Our service advisor & head tech must be tunner friendly people...

I used link to drop, added cat bypass & cargraphic muffler, plus 22", etc...(everything was done at the dealer... of course paid them reg labor plus some love...)

Just had service(36000 miles) also minor warranty work done... No problem.

Oh not to mention... I didn't have to take anything off...
