Spare tire

The question is when one orders 20 or 21 wheels, would you still get a spare? My guess is NO, but haven't seen anyone confirmed.

Page 100 of the official Cayenne Product Guide has a table showing the 19" collapsible spare as standard equipment on the Turbo. There are no footnotes saying it is deleted with the 20" or 21" wheels. I'm sorry I can't post the product guide, the file is too large. I certainly hope this is the case, as my Turbo equipped with 21" Turbo II wheels has completed production as of 2 days ago!

You guys are making me nervous...I do know that the Burmester takes up some cargo space. I have the 20 inch and the Burmester for my Dec build.... Will shoot an email to my sales consultant. Not sure if he can give me an answer right away. It is really quite interesting to note that we folks know more about the vehicle than some in the sales dept who apparently go through some weekly education/rigorous updates. For instance when I asked my sales guy to add on the compass in the center of the dash , he told me Oh No there is no sports shrono on the 2011 Cayenne's.

I guess the question is whether the full wheel/tire diameter of the spare matches the other wheel/tire diameter.
Obviously, you'd want to run a spare of the same wheel size as the other wheels, hence a 18" spare matching other 18" wheels, and 19" spare matching other 19" wheels. The question is whether the 19" spare wheel/tire can reasonably match the 20 or 21 inch wheels/tire combinations, or will it be unsafe to drive one set up that way.
I hope someone with the new 2011 vehicles with 20 or 21 wheels could chime in.

My 2011 Turbo has the 21" wheels, and I have the collapsible spare tire and I believe it is a 19". I will get back to y'all on that on Sunday unless someone else chimes in before. My guess is that you can drive like up to 50 or 100 miles on it at a max of 45-50 mph, at least on my mother's Bentley that is the case, so it could be completely different on the Cayenn.

It depends what you mean by matching; Whether 18,19,20 or 21" they all have approximately the same overall diameter including the tire, thus the same rolling circumference. This keeps the gearing and speedometer calibration the same when going to a larger or smaller wheel. The main difference is bigger rim=lower profile and wider tread. As far as the collapsible spare is concerned, it's so puny that it doesn't really match up regardless of wheel size. Its only purpose is to (hopefully) get you home or to a garage.
